Welcome to our Blog! I am Kim...a Daughter, a Sister, an Aunt, a friend to many, and best of all "A WIFE" and "A MOM". I cherish my family and all of my friends (old and new) more than anything. My Husband, Ryan is a kind, gentle and loving man. Truly an amazing Husband and Father (he definitely spoils us). Our Son, Clayton, just turned 8. He is a kind hearted, loving, outgoing and friendly boy that is always ready to make someone laugh.
This July Ryan and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary. Two years into our marriage came our biggest blessing of all, Clayton! We have enjoyed every minute of being parents since Clayton was born (yes, even those challenging times).
We never imagined that our journey to grow our family after having Clayton was going to be a long, emotional road. We have gone through years of trying (the traditional way), then many unsuccessful infertility treatments and unfortunately endured many losses. After much talk, research and MANY prayers we decided to explore adoption. We feel so blessed that we opened our hearts to adoption. After attending a meeting at our adoption agency we knew then that adoption was right for our family. We immediately felt the excitement! We feel that Clayton is old enough to be a huge part of this decision, and he is more than excited too! In fact I would love to share a story with you...
One day (Clayton was almost 7) he had mentioned to me that sometimes he gets sad that everyone he knows has a sibling and he doesn't. After taking a deep breath to prevent myself from breaking into tears, I chatted with him about how we need to trust in God's plan for us. Whether it is the three of us, or we get blessed with a baby in my belly or blessed with a baby through adoption. His response was "Well Mom, if you do not get a baby in your belly by time I am 8, it is time for us to adopt". **Big Smiles** of course! What an amazing little dude I have. No doubt in my mind that he would love a sibling no matter how they came into our lives.
God works in amazing ways! Can't help but wonder if he was sending me a message that day, through Clayton :-)
Well, finally, we are excited to announce that our adoption journey has started...WHOO HOOO!!!
